RESOURCES - BAPTISM

The sacrament of baptism is a sign and seal of God’s covenant with his people, and signifies

one’s initiation into the Christian community. For those who haven’t experienced Christian baptism,

we offer this sacrament to believers and their children. Let us know if you would like to be baptized,

and we will gladly walk you through the process. Christian baptism is required of all who choose to become members of our church, and of all who partake of Holy Communion.

The Anglican church believes that baptism is not only a sign of profession and a mark of difference

by which Christians are distinguished from those who are not baptized. It is also a sign of regeneration

or new birth, through which, as through an instrument, those who receive baptism in the right manner

are grafted into the church, the promises of the forgiveness of sin and of our adoption as sons of God

by the Holy Spirit are visibly signed and sealed, faith is confirmed, and grace is increased by virtue of prayer to God. The baptism of young children is undoubtedly to be retained in the church as that which agrees best with Christ's institution.

Baptism illustrates Christ’s burial and resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Baptism illustrates my new life as a Christian. 2 Corinthians 5:17, Romans 6:4, Ephesians 2:8-10
