RESOURCES - MISSIONS

“Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the

Son and the Holy Spirit.”—Matthew 28:18 (The Great Commission)

“But when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people

about me everywhere— in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends

of the earth.” – Acts 1:8

Jesus’ last words on earth were, “Go,” and so, we’ve accepted the challenge,

The Acts 1:8 challenge, to reach our city, nation, and world with the good news of Jesus’ love.

At SPC we are involved with several missions efforts here in western North Carolina.  We have

our own mission organization - SOS Ministries who serve victim families of domestic / family

violence in Western North Carolina.  We also partner with Loving Foods Resources, a local

food bank thatserves those who are suffering from AIDS and opportunities exist to volunteer

in that ministry.

On the international side of missions we have several foreign missionaries we support either

monetarily or by prayer covering.  We have missionary partnerships in Brazil, Thailand, Ukraine,

India, Indonesia, and Pakistan. We have also provided funding for a sister church in Rwanda for

a variety of agricultural projects which provide ongoing income to members of the congregation

and look forward to taking a group to put head, heart and hands to work alongside our brothers

and sisters there. Our children’s ministry supports a Rwanda child through Compassion International.
