SERVANT MINISTRY
![]()
One of the last things Jesus taught His disciples was that they were being discipled to serve one another. In order to teach them, He became as a servant to them. When the church was established after the day of Pentecost, one of the first things the disciples were forced to do by circumstances of the extraordinary growth of the church was to provide for the ministry of the church to the people of the church. Those servants were called deacons and their ministry is still alive today.
Within the church there are many opportunities for service such as preparation and beautification of the worship space, greeting newcomers and welcoming them into our fellowship, assisting with the reading of the Word of God in our worship, assisting with technical needs of the worship among others.
In order to offer our best to God, one another and those who are new to us, we must all be involved in these ministries. If there is a burden we all ought to bear it and if there is a joy we all ought to share it. We encourage all members to participate in servant ministries.
