Missions

Missions
We are called to go and make disciples and we are also called to service to others in the Name of Jesus.

Mission is defined by our commitment to taking what we have been given and sharing it with others in order that they might come to know Jesus as Savior and Lord, joining us in the journey of discipleship.

Mission is accomplished in many ways and in many venues, sometimes it is visiting in hospitals, or by offering a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen, while at other times it is by building houses and schools where they are needed and other times it is by proclaiming the good news of God’s love for the world in the cross of His Son.

At St. Paul’s we express our commitment to missions through our budget and our actions. We are a mission of the church of Rwanda and we are committed to mission in its various forms. We believe we have been blessed to be a blessings to others.

We take an active role in mission and ministry both locally in western North Carolina and in other parts of the world. We support missionaries in South America and eastern Europe along with our primary foreign mission effort, our sister parish in Rwanda. We believe in service to others and participate in a variety of community based ministries, some of which are highlighted on these pages.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witness in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” — Acts 1:8
